I've been pondering the question: What are my talents and gifts? I struggle with articulating this because embodiment resides beyond the boundaries of conventional colonial language. My work is somatic, not purely intellectual.

Healing is not just about addressing external injustices; it's also about tending to the emotional and psychological wounds that often accompany them. And they run deep.

I've honed the art of holding space for the taboo, the dark, the painful, the shameful, and the shadowy aspects of marginalized human experience.

In 2023 Evvie contributed their story to a Black Ballad UK article about black women and femmes who left the cults they were raised in. Although at the time of the 2023 interview Evvie chose to be anonymous due to recent stalking attempts by the cult, Evvie now feels proud to identify themselves as May* in the article and is making an effort to have their anonymity changed.
