Climate Tic Talk Circle
The Climate Tic Talk Circle is a peer-to-peer emotional support group led by sustainability expert Kady Cowan, offering free support to individuals dedicated to climate safety. Meeting monthly in a hybrid format, the circle aims to build personal resilience as participants face the ongoing threats to our shared sustainable future. Cowan, with her extensive experience in making the healthcare sector more environmentally sustainable, focuses on learning, simple prototyping, appropriate scaling, and evaluating dynamic low-carbon projects. Her work benefits environmental and human health protection, climate resilience, financial savings, and the conservation of natural and energy resources.
The group emerged from Cowan’s sense of disconnect between scientific warnings about climate change and the lack of action from decision-makers. This frustration and resentment, coupled with the overwhelming nature of climate issues, often lead to burnout among climate workers. Recognizing this, Cowan created the Climate Tic Talk Circle to offer a safe space for emotional support.
As everyone increasingly deals with climate-fueled extreme weather, maintaining mental health while advocating for planetary health has become a broader concern. The mental health impacts of climate change are a significant yet understated public health challenge across the globe.
The Climate Tic Talk Circle is always free to join, welcoming anyone facing ecological loss and crisis. Participants engage in an hour and a half of presencing, listening, sharing, and self-expression. Whether you arrive unsure, unmotivated, or brave, this sanctuary offers a refuge for grieving, creating a community of care, and embracing our interconnectedness. Join the circle to be part of this supportive community.
